Morphological characteristics


Body coat: Coarse wool to hairy. Predominant coat colours are of various shades of brown and grey

Horns: Males are horned, females are polled

Ears: Mostly notched and few have medium ears

Tail: Small, thin

Morphometric traits

Body weight: female 24.1 kg

Reproductive traits

Age at first lambing: 14 months

Lambing interval: 1 year

Litter size: Single

Remarks: Developed and nurtured by tribal groups Bhattra, Bhumia and Koya communities.
