Morphological characters

Body: Small; Black Xianju has the largest body size, Yellow Xianju has the medium body size and White Xianju has the smallest body size; in Yellow Xianju strong body, compact body conformation

Body Plumage: Black, yellow and white plumage colours. Closed plumage in Yellow Xianju

Combs: Single up-right comb in Yellow Xianju

Beak: Short yellow beak in Yellow Xianju

Neck: There are black spots on some Xianju necks

Tail: Carried at a high angle in Yellow Xianju

Limbs/Shanks: Yellow

Toes: Yellow toes without feathers in Yellow Xianju

Morphometric traits

Body weight: Day-old chick - male 32.7 gm, female 31.6 gm; at 180 days old male 1.256 kg, female 0.953 kg

Production traits

Egg shell colour: Fawn

Annual egg production (numbers): 160-180, with the peak yield 200 eggs

Weight of an egg: 42 grams

Egg shape index: 1.36

Evisceration rate: At 3 month of age is 81.5% for male, and 82.96% for female. At 6-month old is 70.0% for male and 71.0% for female.
