Home or breeding tract: Yunhonghe, Yuanchun, Yuanyang, Jinping, Pingbian, Hekou, Wenshan state in Honghe state, some counties in Yuxi, Qujing districts in Yunnan Province

Morphological characteristics

Body: The body formation can be classed into small and large types.

Body coat: Brick gray and white

Head: Proper sized

Horns: The horns can be classed into “close horn” (small horn width) and “open horn” (large horn width and short horn).

Belly: Large round

Back: Flat

Rump: Flat or drooping

Tail: Short with thick root

Limbs: Thick and strong

Udder: Large with wide teats

Morphometric parameters

Body weight: Male kg, female kg

Height at withers: Large type buffaloes 120.5-127.4 cm, small type buffaloes 115-118.3 cm

Reproductive traits

Reproductive rate: 40%-76%

Survival rate: 60%-80%

Production traits

Dressing percentage: Bull 48.9%

Meat percentage: Bull 42%

Eye muscle region: Bull 60.9 cm2

Ratio of bone to meat: 1:6.3

They show good trailing quality.
