Humans need to drink freshwater, not the salty seawater found in oceans and seas. Most of the freshwater on Earth forms the ice sheets of the North and South Poles, and it is frozen throughout the year long. Sometimes people build huge dams and reservoirs along rivers so they can more easily use the water for drinking, washing, growing crops, grinding of grains (flour) and making electric power. We, the people can’t live without freshwater, so people often settle near rivers or freshwater source. All of the living creatures, the animals and plants need water and the particularly freshwater. Rivers and riverbanks are home to different kinds of wildlife. Since ages, people often followed the paths of rivers to explore new parts of the world. They use rivers to travel to different places and to move necessary things from one place to another place.
